Michael Graham

Born on the Central Coast of NSW and being raised in Sydney with short stints in Bathurst, Melbourne and the Snowy Mountains, Michael is a Global traveller who has a passion for People, Places and Pinot! 

 

Sailing the seven seas for several years with Princess Cruises has gifted Michael the opportunity to discover the world's best wine destinations including the
famed French region of Champagne and its unofficial capital Reims. 

 

Michael met Sharon during his time with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, where he played an integral part of the event planning and operations team delivering a range of events including the Sydney Royal Wine Show.
He hosted the Sydney Royal Easter Show Theatre Kitchen for several years, side by side with many celebrity chefs and industry icons, he has also hosted the Hills Relay For Life Ball for 11 years raising over $500K for Cancer Charities. He is a sought after MC and event host with years of holding the mic and making us laugh. 

 

Michael and Sharon have collaborated on lots of projects – Summer of Sport at the SCG, The Elton John Car Park Event Steelers Club and now Balthazar Champagne Bar – which will no doubt be their best production to date.

Sharon Arrow

Sharon grew up in North Dublin, Ireland.

 

Came to Australia in January 1988 on a year’s working holiday visa, as a chef that had just finished her apprenticeship.


Worked with the Radisson Hotel Group and was awarded Employee of the Year for Australia /Pacific / SE Asia in 1994. 

 

In 1997 she opened a fully organic catering company alongside an Irish cuisine catering company called Celtic Catering.

 

In 2002 she took over the Catering operation at Sydney Entertainment Centre and from there moved into large venue / major event operations. She was the Corporate Hospitality Manager at the Sydney Turf Club & Operations Manager Sydney Showground (where she met the fabulous Michael Graham) before taking on the GM role of Hospitality & Sporting Services at the SCG & Allianz Stadium Sydney. 

 

During her time at these iconic Sydney venues, she lead her team to many industry awards including Australian Venue Caterer of the Year twice, Venue Team of the Year, & Major Events Caterer of the Year. Sharon herself was awarded the SportService Golden Boot – Venue of the Year GM 2015 (SCG & Allianz Stadium).

 

She moved to Wollongong in 2017 to take on the role of CEO of Steelers Club. She took the club from a difficult trading period to a vibrant, profitable and innovative venue. She was a Board member of Destination Wollongong for 3 years and is a current Committee Member of Illawarra International Women’s Day and Illawarra South Coast Legacy. She received an Australia Day Award nomination for Community Inclusion in January 2021. 

 

With a focus on providing world class hospitality in a world class venue, Balthazar with encompass the best of an amazing career thus far – the fun is about to start. Partnering with Michael will ensure a dynamic team with a
broad skills base and a level of professionalism fitting for the first Champagne Bar in the region. 

 

She acknowledges the level of support Wollongong has provided and knows the time is right to provide something special for the great people of the Illawarra.
